Using the Content Management System
|
This section of the administration area allows you to manipulate the content of standard website pages.- Go to the Website Information or Pages Control Panel in the administration area.
- Select the page that you wish to alter, e.g. 'Modify About Us'.
- This will open the online form for that page. Any existing content for the page will already be in the form.
- Add to or edit content for this page by filling in the text fields.
- When you have completed your changes, click 'Submit' at the bottom of the screen.
- Remember: to see your changes on the page you have altered you must refresh or reload the page.
Understanding and operating the form:- The online form allows you to enter 12 complete sections onto each page.
- Each section has the following components: a heading, the main content, an image, a web link, an uploaded document.
- Aside from the heading and content of the first section, you do not need to complete every component of every section. You can choose to 'mix and match', depending on how your material looks on the page.
- Multiple paragraphs are possible in the content field. However, each component could also be used for distinct paragraphs – the choice is yours and depends on your material.
- Images can be given a label for the benefit of people using screen readers, or whose Internet browsers cannot display the image itself. Type this information into the 'Image Label' field.
- You can also choose whether the image appears to the left or right of the text. Select your preference from the 'Image align' drop down menu.
- If you add a link or attachment to a section, it is recommended that you use the corresponding 'label' fields to describe the link or attachment in a clear way. For e.g. 'Use this link to visit the Department of Human Services website.'
